The Esoteric Bloom
About Esoteric Healing
Bernadette Bloom practiced a technique called Esoteric Healing. Originally from Tibet, this highly vibrational technique that quickly, easily and naturally balances the human body’s energy field and promotes its natural healing abilities. Problems in this energy field can also be detected before dis-ease manifests itself in the physical body. Therefore, it can be an effective method of practicing preventive and predictive medicine.
The human energy field is known by various names: bio-energy field, bioplasmic body, vital body, and etheric body. Within this energy field are chakras or vortexes of energy. In Esoteric Healing, there are seven major and twenty-one minor chakras or centers. Each of these correspond to a specific gland, organ, nerve plexus, body part and system, and vitalizies them. If a chakra becomes unbalanced or restricted through stress, illness and trauma, the energy field becomes stagnant like a pond. Normal movement becomes sluggish or non-existent, resulting in physical, emotional and/or mental dis-ease. Balanced energy is the essence of health.
For instance, the heart chakra is associated with the lungs, heart, breast, thymus, circulatory system, respiratory system and immune system. When it becomes out of balance, it can cause heart attacks, high blood pressure, the need for cardiac bypass surgery, respiratory disease, breast and lung cancer, circulatory problems, and muscular aches and pains. Similarly, the solar plexus chakra controls the stomach, liver, pancreas, spleen, gall bladder and digestive system. An imbalance here can cause stomach, liver and pancreatic issues, ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome.
Esoteric Healing can help release such imbalances and allow energy to flow freely again. This heals the underlying cause and leads to the restoration of health. Many people find treatments of this modality help them not only physical, but emotionally and mentally as well. Sometimes physical problems do not go away but a person will experience an inner change that makes the problem acceptable or manageable. Past and present traumas or conflicts may be understood better or even resolved. Choices start to be made in accordance with a higher consciousness, greater insight and a broader perspective that lead to a more positive and healthy life. A balanced energy field can also assist people with the dying process by helping them to make the transition from this life more peaceful. All of this happens without the practitioner touching the physical body but working instead in the energy field that permeates and surrounds the person receiving treatment.
HISTORY OF ESOTERIC HEALING
Between 1919 and 1949, Alice A. Bailey wrote the text for Esoteric Healing, along with a total of nineteen books on esoteric philosophies. This accomplishment was in cooperation with the Tibetan Lama, Djwhal Khul, and the intention was to “precede and condition the new age.” These volumes constitute a continuation of the Ageless Wisdom - a body of teachings handed down from ancient times, serving as a well-spring for the arts and sciences. This knowledge has spread across many civilizations and is a common foundation in spiritual traditions around the world.
In the 1960’s, this practice was discovered by a group of healers in the southern coastal town of Portsmouth, UK. While using a form of hand’s-on contact healing, one member of the group could see the energy field around the client. He was a pioneer radar scientist in World War II, one of the few at that time who understood radiations and radio waves. With his knowledge, he directed the group to ‘tune in’ to the soul of each patient, listen for guidance, and proceed, not on the physical body, but in the energy field surrounding it. He was able to ‘see’ the major and minor energy centers and began working with them directly. The other members did not have the same ability, but as they followed his directions, they began to sense energy with their hands.
Familiar with Alice A. Bailey, an observer of the group told them their method resembled what he’d read in Esoteric Healing. None of them had any knowledge of her books, but upon investigation, the similarities proved to be profound. The group set out to ascertain the truth of the very technical writings offered in Esoteric Healing. In 1966, Brenda Johnston, one of the members who was deeply intrigued, joined the Arcane School to formally study Esoteric Science. She later became the founder of The International Network of Energy Healing.
It was in 1973, that she was invited by Dr. Douglas Baker to give her first talk on ‘Esoteric Healing Techniques’ at the London Festival of Yoga and Esoteric Science. This led to invitations in the USA and Canada. In America, she was pressed to give ‘workshops’ with more detailed practical work; something she had never envisioned doing. Her first course on Esoteric Healing was taught at a Dallas festival in 1974 with 75 participants. In 1977, the German Federation of Spiritual Healers invited her to present at their Augsburg Conference. For the next 7 years she taught in Germany, Switzerland and South Africa.
Dinah Lawson, who had been practicing hands-on spiritual healing, attended a talk by Brenda Johnson during that time. Although she had traveled some distance to the meeting, Dinah discovered that she and Brenda lived near each other. She ended up studying all levels, which were three at that time. She practiced and trained with Brenda, and soon began teaching. Decades of study, observation, and implementation resulted in the development of an exact method of treating distortions in the human energy field through Esoteric Healing and strong technical curriculum for training practitioners that continues today.
